YOU BE THE JUDGE

Every KC and the Sunshine Band fan I talk to has a different opinion about Oh Yeah!, an album recorded in Italy of mostly electronic-based music, sung by KC, Maria DeCrescenzo, and Beverly Champion Foster. There are a few re-makes of old KC songs, along with a few new tracks, most notably "Turn the Music Up" and "Coast to Coast," co-written with David Letterman sidekick Paul Shaffer.

I really can't review this album objectively. Therefore, I am going to allow you to be the judge:

If what you like best about the music of KC and the Sunshine Band is the horns and percussion of the Sunshine Sound, you probably will not care for Oh Yeah!.

If what you like best about the music of KC and the Sunshine Band is KC's voice, KC's production ability, or just the fact that this was the first new music KC recorded in nearly ten years, give Oh Yeah! a try.

Your call.

Oh, yeah, one other point: When listening to Oh Yeah! on headphones, make sure you turn the volume down at the beginning, unless you want your ears to ring for days!
