DANCE REMIXESRelease Date: 1998 CD Availability: In larger stores and available online Becky Rating: 7 Suns (out of 10) TRUTH IN ADVERTISING This CD delivers what it promises: dance remixes of fourteen of KC and the Sunshine Band's biggest hits, including all the biggies, "Shotgun Shuffle," "Wrap Your Arms Around Me," "I'm a Pushover" and a rather unexpected "Give It Up." The remixes are linked together via samples from the beginnings of the songs. The remixes themselves, done by someone named Albert Cabrera are not particularly innovative and simply use the tracks already in the songs. By comparison, check out the almost Grateful Dead-like Tom Moulton remix of "Get Down Tonight" on the 25th Anniversary cd, which adds a completely new piano part. Dance Remixes is a superb CD for exercise, even providing music for a cool-down with the inclusion of "Please Don't Go" at the end. I highly recommend it for anyone needing a little inspiration on the treadmill or on the aerobics floor.
