KC and the Sunshine Band, Let's Party: Superb two-CD collection of 32 of the best KCSB songs ever recorded, including some not-found-elsewhere Sound of Sunshine tracks!

Any KCSB greatest hits release worth its price includes all of "the biggies:" the five U.S. pop Number 1 hits "Get Down Tonight," "That's The Way I Like It," "Shake Your Booty," "I'm Your Boogie Man" and "Please Don't Go;" the U.S. R&B Number 1 hit "Keep It Comin' Love;" and the Saturday Night Fever track "Boogie Shoes." All of these are present on the Australian CD. The minor hits "Do You Wanna Go Party," "Sound Your Funky Horn," "Queen of Clubs," "I Like to Do It" and "It's the Same Old Song" also are included.

So far, with the exception of the Four Tops cover, this looks a lot like the U.S. greatest hits. But wait, there's more! Let's Party contains five Sound of Sunshine instrumentals: in addition to "Shotgun Shuffle" and "Rock Your Baby," this is the only CD collection in which I have found "S.O.S.," "Just a Groove," and "Sunshine City."

The rest of the CD presents some of the best album cuts from the early days, including "I Need a Little Loving," "Baby I Want Your Lovin'," "Do It Good," and "Let's Go Party." Incredibly, every song from the second, self-titled album with the exception of "Let It Go (Part 2)" is repeated on the Australian set!

Personally, I like this package better than the two-CD 25th Anniversary collection released in the United States. There's less filler, more great instrumentals, and just more of the early horn and percussion music I love from KC and the Sunshine Band.

Unfortunately, I have never seen this CD set on sale in the US. You may have to go on Ebay or another auction site to find it; I had mine sent directly from Australia. Or maybe it might be worth a trip to Sydney!
