Prime Minister Winston Churchill? No, it's me, eight weeks old, in November of 1965. My parents rented my forehead out to show movies on, and yes, I had black hair.

| I have always loved cats. Supposedly, at a very young age, I would cry when I saw a cat and couldn't have it. This is me, about age one, summer of 1966, with my grandparents' grey Persian cat, Kri. | |||||||||||||||||

| Three and a half years old, summer of 1969, in the backyard of our house in Alliance, with Pretzel. My parents got me Pretzel as a distraction when my brother was born. It must have worked; I remember that cat like yesterday but I don't remember Scott as a baby! | |||||||||||||||||

| My first-grade school picture, fall of 1971, Lincoln School, DeKalb, Illinois. This is my favorite picture of myself. Notice the still- large forehead. | |||||||||||||||||

RIGHT: O Brother, Where Art Thou? Halloween, 1971. I had my fancy Puss-n-Boots costume, with the so-soft cat mask, and the plastic pumpkin to collect treats in. My brother Scott, age 2 1/2, wanted to go too, so my mom cut two holes in an old pillowcase to make him this last-minute ghost outfit and gave him a red wooden sand pail. He had to wear his hooded jacket under the costume, so Scott looks like an extra from Birth of a Nation.
